The story takes us through Bertie’s lifespan of one year, in the orchard which he discovered, after fleeing from the bumble bee nest in search of a more exciting life. In each season we meet bugs and birds who are his friends, and who live with him in the branches of Old Pippin, the apple tree. We encounter adventure, fun and sorrows in their own special world.
